Obituary

Fletta Wyvetta Brewer, 85, of Corning, Arkansas, peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 18, 2026. Born on August 28, 1941, in Moark, Arkansas to Everett Lee and Lola Anita Johnson, Fletta lived a life rich with family and community.

Throughout her career, she worked at the family-owned movie theater, as a clerk at Rorex Grocery, and served as an Assistant Manager at Walmart, where her warm, people-oriented nature shone. A devoted homemaker, Fletta dedicated herself to coaching Pee-Wee basketball and caring for the elderly with boundless compassion. Known for her toughness and kindness, she often offered help without expecting anything in return, embodying the values imparted by her parents.

Her spirited personality was evident in her playful pranks, always keeping loved ones entertained. A member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, she cherished her daily life, from collecting wristwatches often matching to her daily outfit. A fact that is interesting is she always ate dessert first, because she was afraid, she wouldn't have room after finishing her meal.

Fletta married Don Brewer on June 5, 1959, in Rector, Arkansas. Their 67 years together were filled with love and happiness. She is survived by her husband Don; children Steve (Heather) Brewer of Paragould, Arkansas and Shana (Eddie) Lomax of Hornersville, Missouri; siblings Celesta Allen and Debbie (Arnold) Wilkerson; grandchildren Ashley (Joe) Warren, Brooke, Shae Brewer, Allyson (Andrew) Conley, and Zeke Lomax; and great-grandchildren Marjorie, Abel, Nora, Drew, and Rett. Her memory will also be cherished by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Guyneth Nelson, Imodene Mason, Laverda Maple, Darlene Hambrick, General, Ladoin, Joe, and Wayne Johnson.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM officiated by Reverends Robert Moore and Lavern Reed. Burial will take place at Corning Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Herring, Jeff Brewer, Steven Parks, Matt Mosbey, Andrew Conley, and Kenny Francis.

The family extends their gratitude to special family friend Tammie Herring for her concern, compassion and commitment and wishes to acknowledge the staffs of Corning Therapy and Living Center and Legacy Hospice for their exceptional care and support.
