"Fodge" Ashby

Mr. Wilburn Stanton “Fodge” Ashby, 87. of Knobel, AR., passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mr. Ashby was born in Knobel, AR., on March 11, 1928. He was a logger and farmer, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Peach Orchard Church of Christ.
He married the love of his life Flossie Ellen (Green) Ashby on October 15, 1949, they enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. She survives, other survivors include three children Leslie Ashby and wife Carolyn of Paragould, AR., Margaret and husband Philip Flurry of Neelyville, MO., Stanley Ashby and wife Phyllis of Knobel, AR.; two brothers Bud Ashby of Granite City, IL., JT Ashby of Paragould, AR.; four sisters Imogene Cable of Paragould, AR., Caroline Melton of Paragould, AR., Florence Davidson of Albuquerque, NM., Cona Ricker of Knobel, AR.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Margaret (Hart) Ashby; two brothers Leonard Ashby and Melvin Ashby.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Bond Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Knobel Cemetery Association, PO Box 129, Knobel, AR 72435.
