Frank Nelson, 83, of Neelyville, MO., formerly of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Nelson was born October 22, 1941 in Moark, AR. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He owned Stateline Service Station along with his wife and went on to work for Doug’s Tire and Harold Implement after his retirement. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was of the Christian faith.
On September 23, 1967, he married Betty Sue Malone. They were married 37 years prior to her death on January 10, 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Wyvetta (John) Leonard of Corning; AR.; grandchildren Derek Dewayne, Dustin Anthony and Destiny Lynn Leonard; great-grandson Bentley Ray Leonard; companion and lifelong friend Lue (Leitha) Hovis of Neelyville, MO.; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Elvis Dewayne Nelson; parents Charles and Mirtie (Sharp) Nelson; brothers Richard and Charles Nelson; and sisters Wilma M. Nelson and Thelma McCollum.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Bro. Herbert Ellis officiating. Burial will follow the services at Moark Cemetery.
