Fred Allmandinger

Mr. Frederick "Fred" Austin Allmandinger, 87, of Corning, AR., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. He was born to Christopher and Lula (Rogers) Allmandinger in Corning, AR., on July 20, 1929. He lived all his life in Corning.
Fred was a retired grain and catfish farmer. He served on numerous state and local farm related boards. He was also a lifetime Lutheran and served in all offices of the church. In his spare time he enjoyed; basket making, reading, fishing and building things.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Wanda (Dulaney) Allmandinger of the home; daughters Kathy Kidd of Hot Springs, AR., Brigitte and husband Jeff McDonald of Corning, AR., Bendi and husband Kevin Whitt of Paragould, AR.; one sister Dorothy Barton of Corning, AR.; two grandsons Jake McDonald, Luke McDonald; and two great-grandsons Case and Rhett McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Christine “Dolly” Coonce and Anna Mayberry.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning, AR., with The Reverend Jon Bischoff officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning.
