Mr. Fred Smith, 94, of Corning, AR., passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Piggott Community Hospital on Piggott, AR. Mr. Smith was born in Datto, AR., on July 01, 1925. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Corning Masonic Lodge #719. He was a retired auditor for the State of Arkansas. He loved woodworking and farming. He was of Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife Sandy Smith of Corning, AR.; three children Freddie Smith of Mount View, MO., Rodney “Goose” Smith of Corning, AR., Sharon Williams of Piggott, AR.; four stepchildren Kim Hart of Little Rock, AR., Keith Hart of Corning, AR., Kevin Hart of Jonesboro, AR., Kirk Lonidier of Jonesboro, AR.; one sister Jesse Cannady; ten grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Genny; his parents Cad Smith and Garnett (Herren) Smith Brown; one son Larry “Fuzzy” Smith; three brothers J.B. Smith, Earl Smith, Albert Smith; and one sister Helen Hasty.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 12:00 PM until time of service.
