Freeman Mims, 90, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Mims was born in Portageville, MO., on April 22, 1930 He enjoyed woodworking, shopping flea markets and fishing. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Corning Rapert-Poyner VFW Post 8347 where he served as Trustee, Post Surgeon, and Senior Vice Commander. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Corning.
Survivors include his daughters Kimberly (David Crawford) Ferguson of Sanford, NC., Sharlotte (Michael) Humphres of Haleyville, AL.; grandchildren Doug (Amber), William, Madalyn Humphres; Brent (Taylor) Putman, Johnathan (Samantha) Ferguson, Richard Mims, Robin (Bridgette) Sanders, Elizabeth (Charles) Earls, Davie Crawford, Jr., Jacklynn Crawford; and great-grandchildren Lucas, Annevay, Jeffery, and Kimberly.
He was preceded in death by his son James Mims; parents Charles Lee and Ora Bessie (Walker) Mims; brothers Paul, Marvin and Leroy Mims; sisters June Cullum, Bertha Garner, and Lola May Graves.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Troy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
