Galey Hanner

June 25, 1926 — January 16, 2012

Mr. Galey Hanner, 85, of Poplar Bluff, MO., passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Hanner was born in Pollard, AR., on June 25, 1926. He was a retired contractor and farmer who enjoyed fishing, Cardinals baseball, gardening, four wheeling, and playing cards. He proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of Veterens of Foriegn War and Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff.

He married his wife Wilma (Arnold) Hanner on July 3, 1943. She survives.

His other survivors include four children Norma and husband Joe Calhoun of Marmaduke, AR., Pauletta and husband Dewayne Burns of Columbia, TN., Donna and husband Rick Holden of Poplar Bluff, MO., Lonnie Hanner and wife Dawn of Poplar Bluff, MO.; one brother Raymond Hanner of Poplar Bluff, MO.; one sister Edna Malone of Poplar Bluff, MO.; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and twenty two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lon and Mettie (Foster) Hanner; children Ronnie Gale Hanner, Carolyn Sue and husband Max Luttrell; two brothers David Hanner, Franklin Hanner; grandson Brock Luttrell; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Holden officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Public visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
