Gene Carpenter

Mr. Gene Carpenter, 87, of Clarkton, MO., passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his home. Gene was born Clarkton, MO., on February 28, 1933. He was an Adult Education teacher, and then became minister for the First Baptist Church in Peach Orchard, AR. Gene was adamant about preaching the word and he loved writing.

He married his wife of 44 years Marjorie Carpenter on October 6, 1967. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2012.

He is survived by one brother Jim Carpenter of Mill Spring, MO.; and one sister Polly Darnell of Maynard, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Lee and Elza Lee (Wilson) Carpenter; brothers Buddy, Ernest, Bill, Robert, Amos and Bob; sisters Ethyl and Lillie Mae.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR., with Reverend Don Settles officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
