Gene Mccollum, Sr.

Mr. Wilburn Eugene McCollum, Sr., 63, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, February 19, 2011 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. McCollum was born in Moark, AR., he was a cement worker at Corning Ready Mix for many years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and just being outdoors.

He married his wife Carolyn (Turrentine) McCollum on December 2, 1967, she survives. Other survivors include four children Sarah Hollis, Wilburn Eugene McCollum, Jr., Randy McCollum, Bobby McCollum all of Corning, AR.; two sisters Joetta Brickley, Diana Leonard both of Corning, AR.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nephews, nieces and other family members.

Preceded in death by parents Claude and Thelma (Nelson) McCollum; and one grandchild Bethany Bashay Hollis.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Snow, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Moark Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
