George E. Baxley

Mr. George E. Baxley, 76, of Jonesboro, AR., passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at home with his wife and long-time caregiver at his side. Mr. Baxley was born April 28, 1945 in Corning, AR. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later as a member of the United States Air Force Reserve from which he retired. He worked for the Federal Government South Western Power Administration and was an electrician until he retired. He enjoyed restoring antique farm equipment which he often referred to “doin’ miscellaneous” in his shop. He was of the Protestant faith.

On February 14, 2005, he married Cecil Secrease. They celebrated their 16 ^th wedding anniversary this year. Other survivors include his children Ron (Deshea) Baxley of Pocahontas, AR.; Erica (William Reynolds) Waller of Little Rock, AR., James (Lisa) Secrease of Jonesboro, AR., Vance (Kelly) Secrease of Trumann, AR., and Clark (Pam) Secrease of Jonesboro, AR.; grandchildren Rhet and Blair Baxley, Grace and Owen Waller, Jessica Moore, Joseph, Matt, Dylan, Jarret, Lexus Secrease; great-grandchildren Eli, Scarlet, Saylor, Lily, Amelia, Madden, Barrett, and Huxton; long-time caregiver Kevin Greer; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Vincent and Lila Maizel (LaRue) Baxley and brother Rick Baxley.

Kenny Broadaway, Ernie Millsap, Ladell Butts, Danny Scheffield, Dale Dunn, and Kevin Greer will proudly serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at Ermert Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the Corning Cemetery with Reverend Albert Camp officiating.
