Mr. George Wessley “G.W.” Hicks, 76, of Corning, AR., formerly of Dallas, TX., (30 years) and Qulin, MO., passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at home. Mr. Hicks was born in Manila, AR., on October 19, 1940. He was the retired owner of Hicks Appliance Service, Co. He was a Shriner, member of Corning Masonic Lodge # 719 and honorary member of Black Horse Patrol of Dallas, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Corning and also attended Corning First General Baptist Church.
He married his wife of 55 years Mrs. Judy Louise (Osborn) Hicks on June 30, 1961. She survives, other survivors include his sisters Wanda (Claudie) Osborn of Arnold, MO., and Lottie Nobles of Poplar Bluff, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Dora (Lee) Hicks and brother-in-law Warren Nobles.
Funeral services to include Masonic Rites will be conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Richey officiating. Burial will follow the services at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin, MO. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
