Mrs. Georgia Lou Shelton, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. AR. Mrs. Shelton was born in Datto, AR., on February 22, 1930. She was a retired owner/operator of the Stateline Steak and Fish House Restaurant in Neelyville, MO. She enjoyed gardening and watching Saint Louis Cardinal Baseball. She was a member of Corning First Baptist Church.

She married her husband of 45 years Ralph D. Shelton, Jr., on February 20, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1998.

She is survived by daughters Patty Watson Scheer and husband Jerry of Corning, AR., Judy Shelton Brooks and husband Tom of Naples, FL.; son Eric Shelton and wife Laura of Jonesboro, AR.; step-sons Ralph D. Shelton III of Jackson, MO., Larry Shelton of Memphis, TN.; brothers-in-law James Pouge Shelton, Bill Luter; sister-in-law Evelyn Carter; three nephews she helped care for David, Craig, and William Luter; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband; her parents John Henry and Betty Elizabeth (Carter) Carter; three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel Reverend Josh Raspberry officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 12:00 PM until the time of services.
