Mrs. Gertrude “Trudy” Marie Harness Blevins passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 with her family by her side in Reyno, AR. She was 79 years old.

She was born June 16th, 1934 in Montrose, MO. Her father, Glenn William Harness, was a store owner, known as Harness Grocery, and farmer in Stotesbury, MO., and her Mother, Ellen Alzere Fisher Harness, was a retired school teacher.

Trudy was a graduate of the Kanas City Cosmetology School class of 1952, she continued this profession while working with her brother Leland Harness in Fort Scott, KS., in a shop called “The Goldie Locks.” She was elected as Miss Kitty Kansas in 1957 in Fort Scott, KS.

Trudy will be remembered for her love of animals, quick wit, caring heart, and a smile that could light up a room. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, horseback riding, and spending time with her family.

Trudy was a resident of various places throughout her years including; Fort Scott, KS., Clinton, MO., Springfield, MO., Lafe, AR., Bono, AR., and finally Reyno, AR., where she resided close to family.

She married Kenneth Ewan Blevins on June 2, 1956 in Stotesbury, MO.; they had two children Chrisdon Earl Blevins and Trina Alzere Blevins Hurst. Trudy and Ken Blevins shared 54 years of marriage together until the passing of her husband in 2010.

Trudy is survived by her son Chrisdon Earl Blevins and wife Sherry (McCamey) of Paragould, AR., her daughter Trina Alzere (Blevins) Hurst and husband Donnie of Reyno, AR.; her brothers Buck Harness and Lelend Harness of Clinton, MO.; her grandchildren Savannah Marie (Myers) and husnad Steven Lawson of Essex, MO., Jessica Marie Blevins and Chrisdon Chase Blevins of Bono, AR., Jared Griffin of Paragould, AR., Jessica and husband Matthew Clark of Jonesboro, AR., Stephanie and husband Joe Berger of Pocahontas, AR.; great-grandchildren Lauren Berger and Mckenzie Berger of Pocahontas, AR.; and close friends Tanya Carol Blevins and Norma DeVault.

A memorial service will be held at Ermert Funeral Home, 1000 W. Elm in Corning, AR., on Sunday, May 4th, 2014 between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Viewing will be held at Vansant - Mills Funeral Home, 314 West Jefferson in Clinton, MO., on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 at 10:00 AM with procession following. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery on Tuesday May 6th, 2014 at 11:00 AM near the town of Clinton, MO.

Relative and friends are welcome to attend both services.
