Mrs. Glenda Irene (Reeves) Crafton, 91, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. She was born on October 31, 1924, in Pitman, AR. A true Southern lady, Glenda loved quilting, sewing, cooking, fishing, and bowling, but her greatest joy in life was taking care of the many members of her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corning.
Glenda married Ralph Melvin “Snooks” Crafton on September 22, 1945, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents Ulric and Lena (Redwine) Reeves; her brothers Ival Robert Reeves, Paul D. Reeves, and a grandson Bryan Wilder.
She is survived by her three children Shirley and husband Steve Wilder of Success, AR., Ralph “Hoss” Crafton, Jr., and wife Rita of Corning, AR., Betty and husband Jackie Thomas of Corning, AR.; five grandchildren Anjannette (Thomas) Conner of Katy, TX., Jackie “JJ” Thomas, Jr., and wife LeAnne of Montgomery, AL., Kristin (Crafton) and husband Joshua Hammett of Fayetteville, AR., Cameron Crafton and wife Amanda of Springdale, AR., Sheri Wilder of Success, AR.; eleven great-grandchildren Tara and husband John Woods of Bono, AR., Jared Williams and wife Lindsey of Corning, AR., Haley Conner of Katy, TX., Madison Williams of Paragould, AR., Cordell Thomas of Montgomery, AL., Lukas Conner of Katy, TX., Austin Thomas of Montgomery, AL., Elizabeth Thomas of Montgomery, AL., Bella Crafton of Springdale, AR., Ava Hammett of Fayetteville, AR., Braxton Hammett of Fayetteville, AR.; four great-great-grandchildren Hayden Woods of Bono, AR., Drew Woods of Bono, AR., Brooks Williams of Corning, AR., Chloe Woods of Bono, AR.; two sisters Juanita and husband Homer Whelchel of Poplar Bluff, MO., and Maxine Crafton of Morrilton and Hot Springs, AR.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel Reverend Kent Modlin and John Herren officiating. Burial will the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
