Harold Clayton Koonce

Harold Clayton Koonce, Sr., 78 years old of Corning, AR., went to be the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2011. He was born January 8, 1933 in Blytheville, AR., son of B’Otis and Lura (Cable) Koonce. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Koonce; sister Alice Barton and grandson Clayton Koonce. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Caroline (Estes) Koonce of Corning, AR.; one son Clay Koonce and his wife Sue Koonce of New Jersey; one daughter Susan Claire Hoffmann and her husband Tom Hoffmann of Little Rock, AR.; his three grandchildren, Casey Cross of Dallas, TX., Kinley Cross of Los Angeles, CA. and Carson Hoffmann of Little Rock, AR. Harold is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Harold retired from Arkansas Power and Light Company after working 40 years and enjoyed fishing, hunting and more fishing. His life was centered around his family, Church and study of the Bible. He will be remembered for his involvement in Little League Baseball and his contribution to the Corning Fire Department where he served as Chief for many years. Harold was very proud of his family and was surrounded by them on his last day and will be missed by all.

Funeral Service will be Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Old Reyno Freewill Baptist Church in Reyno, AR., at 11:00 am with Reverends Anthony Dowdy and Andy Patterson officiating. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Ermert Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the donors favorite charity.
