Mrs. Helen Gladys Ennis, 90, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Ennis was born in Corning, AR., on June 22, 1924. She was a retired assembly worker and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Corning, AR.
She married her husband Melvin H. Ennis on January 5, 1965. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1984.
She is survived by one sister Billy Jean Fortenberry of Corning, AR.; two nieces Jeanine Sexton of Corning, AR., Marie and husband Steve Fey of Corning, AR.; one nephew Bill Wiedemen and wife Doris of Corning, AR.; one step-daughter Phyllis Young of Corning, AR.; several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents William Afred and Emma (Douglas) Walker; three sisters Valetta and husband Red Sumpter, Mozell Braken, Nellie Arnold; one brother Herman Walker and one half-brother Roy Stroyable.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
