Herbert Ahrent

Herbert Ahrent, 97, of Little Rock, AR., formerly of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Fox Ridge Assisted Living in Little Rock. Mr. Ahrent was born October 15, 1926 in Corning, AR. He spent his entire life farming and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed farming and driving around looking at fields. His past times included collecting Keen Kutter, woodworking, playing cards and dominoes, and going to the coffee shop. He was a member of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning.

On November 12, 1955, he married Cora Whitener. They were married 58 years prior to her death on March 28, 2014.

Survivors include his daughter, Jean Cook of Little Rock, AR.; brother Louis (Ruth) Ahrent of Corning, AR.; grandchild Alaina Cook of Little Rock, AR; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents Fredrick John and Dorthea Ernestine (Allmandinger) Ahrent; brothers Vernon, Edwin and Martin Ahrent; and sister Ruth Letterman.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Corning at 10:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jon Bishof officiating under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
