Mr. Howard Wesley Russell, 90, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, AR. Mr. Russell was born in Corning, AR., on October 25, 1921. He was a retired auto-body technician. He was a private pilot. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, shooting pool and working with wood. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.
He married his wife Mrs. Jewell Leona (Baccus) Russell on March 12, 1941, she survives. Other survivors include one son Freddy Russell of Corning, AR.; one daughter Brenda George of Corning, AR.; one sister Inis (Russell) Helms of Saint Louis, MO.; seven grandchildren; fifthteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Jackson and Sallie Mae (Rains) Russell.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Wooldridge officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
