Mr. Hughy Lynn Bland, 62, of Hickoria, AR., passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at home. Mr. Bland was born in Piggott, AR., on November 27, 1953. He was a lifelong family farmer who enjoyed hunting, camping, and gun collecting. He was a deacon and proud member who worked tirelessly at Smith Chapel Church in Boydsville, AR. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather who will be missed by all.
He married his wife Martha Patricia Carol "Patty" (Thompson) Bland on January 9, 1999. She survives. Other survivors are his three children Carrie and husband Bobby Garner of Corning, AR., Jamey Bland and wife Sarah of Corning, AR., Shannon Bland and wife Rochelle of Corning, AR.; his mother Euvila Bland of Hickoria, AR.; his sister Sandra Jackson of Corning, AR.; twelve grandchildren; step-children Lori Moore of Piggott, AR., Chris Moore and wife Vikki of Corning, AR., Josh Moore and wife Heather both of Piggott, AR.
He was preceded in death by his father Sterling Ray Bland and brother Harold Bland.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Suiter officiating. Burial will follow the services at Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
