Irene Crawford

Mrs. Erma Irene Crawford, 96, of Datto, AR., passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Crawford was born in Datto, AR., on October 2, 1916. She was retired after more than fifty years from the Corning and Datto School Districts where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed reading, baking, and working in her church. She was a member of the Datto Missionary Baptist Church for over eighty years.

She married her husband of sixty seven years Jack Crawford on January 11, 1935. He preceded her in death February 28, 2002.

She is survived by one son Jackie Crawford and wife Shirley of Reyno, AR.; one sister Cleta Duncan of New Madrid, MO.; one granddaughter Cherry and husband Roy Sanders of Cabot, AR.; two great-granddaughters Jacqueline Jones of Cabot, AR., Andrea Shoptaw of Cabot, AR.; one great-great-grandson Dante Looney of Cabot, AR.; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents A.H. "Hollie" and Edna (Moore) Schwinegruber; brother Ray Wood; sister Rita Shepard; stepmother Ollie Schwinegruber.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Datto Missionary Baptist Church in Datto, AR., with Mike Chadwick officiating. Burial will follow the services in Nelson Cemetery in Reyno, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.
