James Cleties Calhoun

Mr. James Cletus Calhoun, 86, of Piggott, AR. passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Saint Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Calhoun was born in McDougal, AR. He was a farmer for many years, he proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He was Apostolic in faith.

He married his wife Bonnie Virginia (Sprouse) Calhoun on February 18, 1943 she survives. Other survivors include ten children Donald Calhoun and wife Geraldine of McDougal, AR., Virginia and husband Jerry Caughron of Truman, AR., Evelyn and husband Sam Winstead of Greenway, AR., Dennis Calhoun of McDougal, AR., Gloria and husband Jim Crittenden of Piggott, AR., Nellie and husband Dink Butler of Piggott, AR., Darrell Calhoun and wife Pam of McDougal, AR., Jackie Calhoun and wife Sandy of Rector, AR., Danny Calhoun and wife Teresa of McDougal, AR., Danny James Calhoun and wife Allison of Paragould, AR.; one sister Pauline Parrish of Brighten, MI.; 31 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents Olie and Gerthie Ann (Burns) Calhoun, one son Donnie Calhoun, one daughter-in-law Becky Calhoun, granddaughter Sandy Jo, grandson Danny Poe, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Buddy Beecher and Shawn Parker officiating. Burial will follow the service in Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR. Public visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2010 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
