Mr. James Melvin Jones, 70, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.
Mr. Jones was born in Little Rock, AR., on February 9, 1945. He was a retired school teacher, having taught history for 30 years with the Neelyville Missouri School District. He enjoyed beekeeping and raising show birds. He was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter Dr. Vinessa Kaye Trotter of Murray, UT.; two brothers John Jones of Paragould, AR., H.C. Brothers of Paragould, AR.; two sisters Mandy Roush of Lafe, AR., Bertha Howe of Lafe, AR.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Nancy (Valance) Jones; stepmother Velma (Henley) Jones; one brother Robert Jones; three sisters Nevada Henley, Linda Jones, Gail Gilkison; three nieces; one nephew; one great-niece and two great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Ferguson officiating. Burial will the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
