Mr. James Edward "JJ" Shepard, 64, of Rush Springs, OK., passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Shepard was born in Corning, AR., on December 25, 1950. He was the owner-operator of ARK-MO Livestock Market. He was a member of the National Auctioneers Association, licensed in both Arkansas and Missouri. He was also a member of the USTRC, Quails Unlimited and Farm Bureau, he was involved in team penning and team roping competitions. He loved spending time with his family and going on trail rides with his two granddaughters. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow, OK.
He married his wife of 46 years Hilma (Kirby) Shepard on August 2, 1969 in Pocahontas, AR. She survives, other survivors include his daughter Heather and husband Kerry Castle of Rush Springs, OK.; two granddaughters Chloeva Castle of Rush Springs, OK., Kinley Castle of Rush Springs. OK.; one brother Ray Dean Shepard of Doniphan, MO.; several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Cloeva Lorene (Blankenship) Shepard.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the services at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
