Mr. James W. Tracy, 89, of Jackson, MO., passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at home. Mr. Tracy was born in Corning, AR., on July 09, 1922. He was a retired self-employed Auto repair technician having operated Tracy & Son's Body Shop for many years. he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, refurbishing old furniture and reading westerns. He was a member of the Veterans of Foriegn War and of the Christian Faith.
He married his wife Mildred Lucille (Hoffer) Tracy on February 12, 1943. She survives. Other survivors include one son Billy Tracy of Corning, AR.; one daughter Gail and husband Stan Mungle of Jackson, MO.; three grandchildren Craig and Rachael Friese, Brian and Shy Friese, Michael and Tracy McCluskey; two great-grandchildren Cameron and Clara; many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ellen (Hertz) Tracy; one brother John Tracy; two sisters Julie Murray and Iva Webb.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery with military honors. Public visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
