Jeanine Gunnels

Mrs. Jeanine Edna Gunnels, 84, of Knobel, AR., passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. Gunnels was born in Detroit, MI., on August 19, 1933. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading books, and sewing. She attended First Baptist Church in Corning, AR.

She married her husband of 36 years Mr. Emmett Lee Gunnels on August 27, 1976, he preceded her in death on March 29, 2013.

She is survived by two sons Ray Whiting of Corning, AR., Rex Whiting of Michigan; step-son Gary Gunnels of Michigan; step-daughter Bonnie Aschanbunner of Michigan; sister Judy Hoag of Michigan; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son Roy Whiting; parents Roland H.L. and Jennie (Walker) Smith; step-daughter Betty Runyon and brother Henry Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services at Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal, AR. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
