Mr. Jerry Wayne Samons, 70, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, AR. Mr. Samons was born in Datto, AR., on October 17, 1943. He worked for Basler Electric Company in Assembly and also was an Ambulance worker. He enjoyed fishing.
He married his wife of 46 years Sharen (Knox) Samons on October 6, 1967. She survives, other survivors include two daughters Shannon Samons of Paragould, AR., Tai Ballard of Delaplaine, AR.; one sister Nina Patterson of Rockford, IL.; five grandchildren Lillian Ballard, Brett Ballard, Emma Lou Ballard, Tyler Waters and Taya Waters.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Ida (Dudley) Samons; five brothers Freeman Samons, Luther Samons, Chester Samons, R.C. Samons, Thuman Samons; one sister Ernestine Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Pennington officiating. Burial will follow the service at Williams Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
