Coach Jerry L. Sharpe, 70, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Dallas, TX. Coach Sharpe was born in Poplar Bluff, MO., on March 8, 1947. He was retired from Corning School District. He enjoyed duck hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
He married his wife of 25 years Mrs. Sally (Phelan) Sharpe on July 11, 1970. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1996. He married his wife of 20 years Mrs. Becky (Whelchel) Sharpe on November 14, 1997. She survives, other survivors include his children Scott Sharpe and wife Betsy of Paragould, AR., Jeri Lynn and husband Brock Swann of Piggott, AR., Gary Don Sharpe of Corning, AR., Cindy and husband James Frans of Jonesboro, AR., Kristi and husband Jonas Vanpool of Corning, AR., Ashley Lewis of Corning, AR.; brother Don Sharpe and wife Roxie of Republic, MO.; eleven grandchildren Hanna, Emlee, Burke, Harper, Sidney, Jakob, Kylee, Madison, Bailey, Bentley, and Payton.
In addition to his wife, Sally, he was also preceded in death by his parents Henry Harvey and Ellen Arizona (Scrivner) Sharpe.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
