Jerry Carol Tarr

Jerry Carol (Kirby) Tarr, 80, of Paragould, AR., passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Tarr was born in Vanduser, Missouri on July 5, 1942. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a supervisor at H&R Block. Previously she had worked at Chrysler Financial Corporation. She also had her real estate license in the state of California. She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, sewing, crafts, antiquing, and traveling. Golfing was her favorite sport and she was a member of the Mission Lakes Women’s Golf Association (Desert Hot Springs, CA.) for years. She served as a part of the Mission Lakes Earthquake Preparedness and Neighborhood Security teams. She was also a member of the Women’s National Republican Club. Jerry was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include husband Robert Tarr; one son Troy Tarr and his wife Jennifer of Mission Viejo, CA.; four daughters: Betty Jane Magyar and her husband Lynn of Irwin, PA., Lisa Grant and her husband Jon of Mission Viejo, CA., Catherine Hart of Goodyear, AZ., and Sherry Lilley and her husband Andrew of Dunmore, PA.; grandchildren: Bryanna, Keilin, Braxton, Sara, Evan, Sophie, Jeffrey, Justin, Jacob, Donald, Shana, Michael, Jake, and Shane; great-grandchildren: Tara, Cally, Aiden, Luke, Paisley, Truman, Baylen, Elena, Jacob, and Anthony.

Surviving siblings include her twin brother Gary Kirby of Corning, AR.; and five sisters: Betty Robinson of Poplar Bluff, MO., June Brown of Brookland, AR., Carolyn Wooldridge of Paragould, AR., Brenda McCollum of Corning, AR., and Hilma Shepard of Paragould, AR. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry W. and Lillian A. (Seagraves) Kirby; one granddaughter Emalee; brothers: Harry, Eugene, Max, and Lee Kirby; three sisters: Joy Gartside; Susan Gutierrez; and Mary Foster.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Wooldridge and Richard Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Richwoods Cemetery in Corning. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
