Mr. James E. “Jim” Davis, 88, of McDougal, AR., passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Davis was born in Corning, AR., on January 28, 1932. He was retired from the Clay County Courier. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, he was a proud member of Rapert Poyner VFW Post #8347, Corning, AR., and DAV #26, Jonesboro, AR. He attended First Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughters Debbie Hawkins of McDougal, AR., Lisa Thomas of Searcy, AR.; brother Bob Davis of Fort Wayne, IN.; sisters Louise Derring of Florida, Ann Bell, Charlene Davis of Broken Arrow, OK.; step-daughters Kendra Sanchez and April Bell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Bruce Davis; two wives Reva Davis and Dorothy Davis; his parents Charles Everett and Beatrice Mae (McQueen) Davis; brothers General Davis, Bill Davis, Bo Davis; granddaughter Julie Hawkins and a great-grandson Lucas Hawkins.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herbert Ellis officiating. Military Honors will be rendered in the funeral home. Burial will follow service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
