Jim Prater

Mr. James Edward Prater, Jr. 77, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. Mr. Pater was born in Saint Louis, MO., on June 3, 1936. He was a retired construction worker. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

He married his wife Janice Dalene (Carter) on August 9, 1996. She survives, other survivors include three sons Greg Prater of Jonesboro, AR., Jimmy Prater of Corning, AR., Pete Prater and wife Melissa of Jonesboro, AR.: two daughters Diana and husband Wayne Tillie of Corning, AR., Tina and husband Randy Bolen all of Corning, AR.; two brothers Bob Prater and wife Joyce of Jonesboro, AR., Rick Prater and wife Linda of Pocahontas, AR.; three sisters Georgia and husband James Ratliff of Imboden, AR., Marie and husband Bill Teel of Pocahontas, AR., Pat Lorsbach of Pocahontas, AR.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Dennis Carter of San Antonio, TX. and special cousins from Missouri.

He was preceded in death by parents James Edward Prater, Sr. and Emma (Tucker) Prater and one sister Elsie Kennett.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMasters officiating. Burial will follow the services in Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 12:30 PM until the time of services.
