Jimmie Curtis

Jimmie W. Curtis, 81, of Corning, AR., passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mr. Curtis was born July 7, 1943 in Marmaduke, AR. He worked in area factories throughout his life, retiring from Darling Store Fixtures, and later worked for Riceland and for the City of Corning. He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Corning with a tenure of 30 years. His hobbies included racing lawnmowers, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Grassylead Church of Christ, in Corning.

On May 7, 1964, he married Maerene Gatewood. They were married 60 years this past May. Other survivors include his sons Wayne (Teresa) Curtis and Danny (Cindy) Curtis, both of Corning, AR.; grandchildren Clint, Chandler, Kirby (Kayla), Ryan (Tiffany) and Timothy (Haley) Curtis, Caitlin (Cody) Halcomb and Chelci Curtis; great-grandchildren Finley, Ellie, Miles and Allyn; special family friends, Kenny and Danielle Francis, Patsy Sollis, Mike and Bessie Dowdy and family, Henry, Freda and Paula Locke and Gala Blanchard; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Mary (Smith) Pentecost, and Albert Curtis and brothers Burl, Johnny, Dennis and Sam Pentecost and Harold Hickman.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM Rev. Ryan Curtis officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
