Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Prater, 55, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Corning, AR. Mr. Prater was born in Saint Louis, MO., on July 19, 1960. During his career, he was a riverboat captain and a farmhand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors.
He is survived by two sons Zach Prater of Dallas, TX., Ty Prater and wife Emily of Corning, AR.; his mother Mary Therese (Bundren) Prater of Corning, AR.; two brothers Greg Prater of Jonesboro, AR., Pete Prater and wife Melissa of Jonesboro, AR.; two sisters Diana and husband Wayne Tillie of Corning, AR., Tina Prater of Corning, AR.; one grandchild Charlee Reece Prater and step-mom Janice Prater.
He was preceded in death by his father James Edward "Jim" Prater, Jr.; maternal grandparents Lem and Geraldine Bundren; paternal grandparents Ed and Emma Prater.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Georgia Gail Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
