Joanna Young

Mrs. Joanna Young, 79, of Knobel, AR., passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at Saint Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Young was born in Peach Orchard, AR., on January 4, 1940. She was a farmer’s wife and teacher’s aide. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

She married her husband of 62 years Mr. Glen Young on April 20, 1957. He survives. Other survivors include her sons Vince Young and wife Paula Jonesboro, AR., Jeff Young and wife Lora of McDougal, AR., Rob Young and wife Karen of Corning, AR.; daughter-in-law Robin Young of Corning, AR.; brother Charles Gates of Poplar Bluff, MO.; three sisters Patsy Davidson of Kennett, MO., Jean Spain of Poplar Bluff, MO., Aline Sollis of Atlus, OK.; seven grandchildren Heather and husband Brian Boyd, Nick Young and wife Stephanie, Aaron Young and wife Samantha, Becca and husband Trevor Barajas, Heath Young and wife Courtney, Lesa and husband Bryan Bass, Keith Young; seven great-grandchildren Lance, Brydon, Blake, Shelby, Abby, Christopher, Layla, Harrison and Sylas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Joseph and Allie (Story) Gates; two sons Bill Young and Allen Young.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home with Bro. Kent McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow the services at Pirtle Cemetery in Peach Orchard, AR. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
