John Austin

John Austin, 80, of Corning, AR., passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Corning Therapy and Living Center. Mr. Austin was born January 29, 1944 in Jonesboro, AR. He retired from John Deere after 48 years. He was an avid reader of mysteries and history. John loved spending time with his family. He was a member and deacon of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Corning.

On September 20, 1963, he married Dianna Sue Milburn. The recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Other survivors include their daughter Kelly Joplin of Grandin, MO.; grandchildren Shelby Cox and Scott Joplin; step-great grandchildren Derek Joplin, Brianna Grisham, Destiny Cox and Cheyenne Wilson; step-great great grandchild Zuriyah Wilson, Connor and Freya Joplin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna (bolt) Austin; step-mother Anna Jane Austin; brother Jim Austin; half-brother Larry Austin; and step-grandchild Shannon Brandon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow 12:00 PM with Bro. Bryan McDade officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
