John Brewer

Mr. John Ray Brewer, 72, of Elgin, IL., passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL. Mr. Brewer was born in Corning, AR., on April 5, 1946. He was retired from Dukane Corp. He enjoyed working on old cars, painting and doing carpentry work. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country as a member United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran's of Foreign War. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Valley View, IL.

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Brewer of Benton, IL.; one brother Jackie Lynn Brewer of Corning, AR.; four sisters Eula Higgins of Corning, AR., Betty Lou and husband Perry Stevens of Newton, IA., Gwen and husband Ennis “EJ” Brooks of Corning, AR., Barbara and husband Thomas Rush of Paragould, AR.; grandson Dylan Little John and his fiancé Elaine Hines of Batavia, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Monroe and Hettie Elizabeth Brewer; three sisters Rebecca Lynn Brewer, Bonnie Sue Hawkins and Lola Holifield.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in Corning Cemetery with Military Honor's. Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
