John Moore

Mr. John L. Moore, 82, of Success, AR., passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR., surrounded by his family. Mr. Moore was born in Success, AR., on September 5, 1936. He was a retired farmer who enjoyed watching Cardinals baseball and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard and was a member of Corning Masonic Lodge. In 1958, he received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from Arkansas State College and was named Clay County Farm Family of the Year in 1975 and 2014. During his life, he served on the Corning School Board for 23 years and on the Arkansas State School Board for 5 years. He was also past Chairman of the Clay County Democratic Party. Mr. Moore was a member of Success First Baptist Church in Success, AR., where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

He married his wife of 59 years Mrs. Carolyn (Ennis) Moore on October 15, 1959. She survives, other survivors include his daughters Lisa and husband Joe Jett of Success, AR., Mona Tullos of Paragould, AR.; brother Paul Moore and wife Dena of Corning, AR.; sisters Donna Ermert of Mountain Home, AR., Alma Massey of Pocahontas, AR.; three grandchildren Andy (Blayne) Jett, Logan (Molly) Jett, Noah Tullos; three great-grandchildren Jackson, Easton, and Mullen Jett.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Edward and Mamie Orena (McGraw) Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Success First Baptist Church with Reverends Logan McCourtney and Bill Ennis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hitt Cemetery in Success. Visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel.

Proudly serving as pallbearers will be Andy Jett, Logan Jett, Noah Tullos, Terry Bryant, Terry Miller and Joel Tullos. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class of Success First Baptist Church.
