John Small

Mr. John Jerome Small, 86, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Saint Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mr Small was born in Corning, AR., on June 11, 1926. He was retired from Riceland Foods in Corning, AR. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He married his wife Lorene (Carter) Smith, she preceded her in death on February 20, 2001.

He is survived by two sons Bobby Small and wife Karen of Jonesboro, AR., Danny Small and wife Sherry of Corning, AR.; two daughters Verlene and husband Reuben Chavez of Corning, AR., Charlene Harris of Sikeston, MO.; two stepsons Larry Paul French and wife Lora of Rockford, IL., Jerry French and wife Kathy of Hudson, FL.; two brothers Junior Small of Greenway, AR., Charlie Small of Corning, AR.; seventeen grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents Jessie Sam and Bessie May (Dobbins) Small; two brothers Mentril Small, Jack Small; three sisters Lucy Banks, Opal Howell and Hazel French.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Small officiating. Burial wll follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
