John Smith

John Willard Smith, 81, of Paragould, AR., passed away Sunday, June 30th, 2024. He was the son of John Willard Smith Sr. and Ruby (Glover) Smith. John grew up with his loving and protective big sister, Olene (Don) Pickney and enjoyed reminiscing with her about years gone by.

John had a remarkable talent for fixing anything and everything - a true jack of all trades, everyone came to him when something was broken.

He married the love of his life, Donna Hall, on September 27, 1963, and together they raised 3 children: Kevin (Mary) Smith, Tammy (David) Johnston, and Angie (Jimmy) Grooms. He was the proudest Pawpaw to 7 grandchildren: Chad Smith, KC (Natalie) Smith, Hannah (Corey) Herren, Korey (Sunshine) Smith, Abbi (Drew) Horton, Rachel (Tanner) Stonehart, Sam (McKayla) Smith and 13 great-grandchildren: Lucy, Kylie, Lexi, Gracie, Sophia, Jonathan, Braydyn, Naulie, Indie, Kinley Jo, Klayton, Mary Ellen, and Maylon.

He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ruby Smith and his son, Troy Jefferson Smith.

He had a love for fishing, old westerns, a full belly and a good nap, but his greatest joy was being with the ones he loved. John will be eternally missed by all of those who love him.

The family will hold a memorial service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Transformed Church, 4300 Finch Rd. Paragould, AR.
