Mrs. Joy Colene (Arnold) Baker, 79, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR., Mrs. Baker was born September 5, 1934 in Knobel, AR. She was a teacher, a realtor, owner of an Abstract office and a clerk in the Clay County Assessor’s office. She enjoyed attending church, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and other family and friends. She was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.
She married her husband Benjamin “Ben” Baker on September 20, 1959 in the Walnut Grove Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1992.
She is survived by two sons Ben Baker and wife Julie of Batesville, AR., Perry Baker and wife Lauria of Paragould, AR.; one daughter Rebecca and husband Floyd Cozart of Paragould, AR.; seven grandchildren Brian Cozart, Timothy Baker, Benjamin Baker, Michael Baker, Curtis Baker, Zachary Baker and Abby Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Henry Edward and Addie (Wall) Arnold; two brothers Austin Arnold and Jackie Arnold.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Meredith and Bill Ennis officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
