Mrs. Joyce Lou Cooper, 71, of Corning, AR., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at home. Mrs. Cooper was born in Egypt, AR., on June 22, 1941. She was a retired assembly worker from Basler Electric Company. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, she was of the Baptist faith.
She married her husband Norman Dean "Pop" Cooper on September 24, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2012.
She is survived by three daughters Pamela Welch of Lakeland, FL., Glenda Emery of Currentview, MO., Brenda Whitten of Wewahitchka, FL.; one son Michael Cooper of Corning, AR.; three brothers Bill Rucker, George Rucker, Albert Rucker; one sister Gilda Geans; six grandchildren Toby Meredith, Jason Grubb, Dustin Grubb, Justin Hutchison, Kendra Hutchison, Lamarie Whitten and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Thomas C. and Lella Dora (Sims) Rucker; three brothers James Rucker, Earnest Rucker, Larry Rucker; two sisters Lena Mae Gywill and Maxine Rucker.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Halcomb officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Beech Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove, AR. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
