Katherine Mccallen

Mrs. Daisy Katherine (Garland) McCallen, 93, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Saint Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. McCallen was born in Corning, AR., on August 17, 1919. She was retired having worked for Garland Drug Store, she also worked preparing taxes and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corning.

She married her husband Bryan James McCallen on October 2, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1999.

She is survived by her brother Wilber Garland of Jonesboro, AR.; nine nephews and nieces; several great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Wilber T. and Anna Pearl Elizabeth (Penter) Garland; her daughter Fairy Gail McCallen; three brothers Joe Garland, Loren Garland, Freddie Garland; two sister Elsie Unice Spence and Ruth Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ann Ferris officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the Church.
