Mr. Keith Dwight Swim, Sr., 93, of Corning, AR., passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at home. Mr. Swim was born in Forestburg, TX., on July 19, 1922. He was the owner-operator of Clay Ark Enterprises in Corning. He served as superintendent for Bernie, MO., and Big Spring, TX., school districts for 22 years, he was also a farmer and worked for 3 years at Texas Tech University in the Federal Programs Division. He enjoyed piloting airplanes, farming, antique cars, traveling, and spending time with family. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Corning.
He married his wife of 70 years, Vonna Jean (Woods) Swim on October 22, 1944. She survives, other survivors include two children Sharon Suzanne Swim Lane of Austin, TX., Keith Dwight Swim, Jr., and wife Brenda of College Station, TX.; six granddaughters Jennifer and husband Jason Wood, Ashley and husband Daniel Brunjes, Kadee and husband Christopher Boerger, Ashley and husband Jonathan Dutton, Sarah and husband Jon Conner, Michaela and husband James McCoslin; fourteen great-grandchildren and three more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Alexander and Bertha Easter (Stone) Swim; two brothers Kenneth Swim and Samuel Swim.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, AR. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers will be the grandson-in-laws; serving as honorary pallbearers are Josh Wadkis and Steve Fox.
