Mrs. Carolyn "Kitty" Carpenter, 64, of Corning, AR., passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at home. Mrs. Carpenter was born on December 13, 1946 in Corning, AR. She was a homemaker and a member of the House of Prayer.
She married her husband Colin Carpenter on June 3, 1963. He survives. Other survivors include two sons Vernie Carpenter and wife Sarah of Corning, AR., Kelly Carpenter and wife Sharon of Corning, AR.; two brothers Bill Barton of Pocahontas, AR., Vernon Barton of Corning, AR.; three sisters Polly Arnold of Little Rock, AR., Shirley Clifton of Corning, AR., Jessi Crom of Arizona; seven grandchildren Rachel and husband Danny Janes, Emily and husband David DeVault, Chelsea and husband Matt Allen, Matt Carpenter, Julie Carpenter, Logan Capenter, Caitlyn Carpenter; two great-grandchildren Cadence and Mollie Janes.
She was preceded in death by parents Vernie J. and Vergie (Lewis) Barton; three brothers Bob, Carl, and Harold Barton.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Shay Carpenter officiating in the Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR.
