Larry Smith

Mr. Larry Thurman Smith, 71, of Corning, AR., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Smith was born in Fisk, MO., on March 11, 1947 the son of the late Thurman and Alberta (Dixon) Smith.

As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years, he took great pleasure in attending church, going to sales, visiting friends and family. He was a friend to all and loved people, especially children. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at the age of 51 years and was baptized. He was an elder at Living Word Fellowship Church in Corning, AR.

On January 7, 1967 at the home of Rev. Burl Howell, he married the love of his life Ms. Judy Glasgow. They spent 51 years together. Their union was blessed with one son.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son Larry Wayne Smith and wife Kathy of Corning, AR.; sister Sandra and husband Tim Smith of Mountain Home, AR.; grandson Cody Smith (Cassia Williams) of Corning, AR.; step grandchildren Ricky (Amanda) Robinson, Barbie Robinson and Emily Woods all of Corning, AR.; step great-grandchildren Tera, Lindsey, A.J., Ryder, Chase, Shantel, Jacob, Ryan and Bryson; special nieces Courtney (Josh) Hollowell, Georgia and Poet; and many other beloved family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Dale Smith and step-father Ollie Rosson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the services in the Corning cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
