Mrs. Lela Guthrey, 97, of Corning, AR., passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at Corning Therapy and Living Center in Corning, AR. Mrs. Guthrey was born in Datto, AR. She was a homemaker and a member of Reyno First Baptist Church.
She married her husband Firgus William Guthrey on January. 2, 1932. He preceded her in death on Febuary 2, 1993.
She is survived by one son Clarence Guthrey of Corning, AR.; two brothers Floyd Morgan of Gorham, IL., Robert Morgan of Charleston, MO.; three sisters Mary Venita Bonifeld, Vena Daughette, Dorothy McDowell all of Charleston, MO.; five grandchildren Dick Guthrey of Pocahontas, AR., Carl Guthrey of Jonesboro, AR., Joey Guthrey of Datto, AR., Cindy Guthrey Williams of Corning, AR., Scott Guthrey of Corning, AR.; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Clarence Everett and Pearl Elizabeth (Fears) Morgan; son Buddy Guthrey; three brothers Murlyen, Charles, Jake Morgan; and one sister Nellie Gage.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
