Mr. Leonard Tanner, 96, of Corning, AR. passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Tanner was born in Elm Store, AR., on July 23, 1919. He was a farmer, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing, making turkey calls, throwing horseshoes and shooting pool. He was of the Baptist faith.
He married his wife of 73 years Christine (Reynolds) Tanner on January 10, 1943. She survives, other survivors are three daughters Bobbie and husband Carlos Lester of Corning, Betty and husband Charles Arnold of Batesville, Barbara Skaggs of Corning; one sister Josephine Aquino of Pocahontas; two grandchildren Charla and husband Michael Foster, Glendal Boyd; two great-grandchildren Noah Tanner Foster and Journey Foster; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Sarah Adeline (England) Tanner; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in the Corning Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
