Leroy Hopkins

Leroy Hopkins, 80, of Maynard passed away July 21, 2024 at home.

Mr. Hopkins was born March 2, 1944 in McDougal. He was a carpenter who enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and woodworking. He attended The Well Community Church at Pocahontas.

On March 30, 1962, he married Mary Van Lamb. They were married 60 years prior to her death on October 9, 2022.

Survivors include his children Vickie (Sandy) Henry of Pocahontas, Jason Hopkins of Maynard, Brenda Greene of Pocahontas, and Billy Joe Hopkins of Maynard; sister Barbara Hopkins of Jonesboro; grandchildren Rachael, Ashley, Joey, Wesley, Brandi, Jessica, Levi, Dylan, and Jadea; great grandchildren Landon, Laynee, Cara, Easton, Whitley, Ada, June, Kylie, Mason, Kohen, Delilah, Lyla, Slade, and Oakleigh; and special family member Michelle Hopkins.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents Dewey Franklin and Ruby Jewel (Sprouse) Hopkins; brothers Bobby, Denver, Leo and Eugene Hopkins; and sisters Arvilla McKinney and Dorothy Morgan.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 29, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Maynard Cemetery in Maynard with pastor Vince Avery officiating. Burial will follow.
