Mrs. Lou Dell Border, 84, of Knobel, AR., passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould, AR. Mrs. Border was born in Cave City, AR., on December 25, 1930. She was retired from Basler Electric and a homemaker. She was a member of Knobel Church of Christ.
She married her husband of 42 years Mr. Rex Ellis Border on March 19, 1947 in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1989.
She is survived by her children Linda Dell Shatley of Paragould, AR., Rex Marshall Border and wife Jane of Jonesboro, AR.; one sister Betty Sue Barker; one brother-in-law Olan Hanes; two sisters-in-law Martha Border, Darleen and husband Hugo Mora; four grandchildren Belinda Sue and husband Randy Godfrey, Eddie Don Leach and wife Millie, Heath Ryan Border and wife Nicole, Jerrod Neal Border; seven great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents William David Lassiter and Vola (Smith) Lassiter McGowan; her step-father John Robert McGowan; one brother Leo Lassiter and one sister Nellie Jean Bowers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Win Bridges officiating. Burial will follow the services at Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Terry Gleghorn, Johnny Callahan Sr., Johnny Callahan Jr., James Godfrey, David Slatton, Rex Leach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knobel Cemetery Association, c/o Doris Sellmeyer, PO Box 129, Knobel, AR 72435.
