Lucille Carpenter

Mrs. Lucille Carpenter, 90, of Texarkana, TX. formally of Pocahontas, AR. died Tuesday March 9, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sherman Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She married her husband William Eugene Carpenter on July 14, 1934 in Clay County, AR. he preceded her in death on July 20, 1977.

She is survived by seven sons Souany Lee Carpenter of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; Colin Carpenter of Corning, AR.; Benny Carpenter of Texarkana, TX.; Douglas Carpenter of Marion, IL.; Shay Carpenter of Jefferson City, MO.; Gregory Carpenter of Joplin, MO and Shawn Carpenter of Leslie, AR.; seven daughters Ginger Baxley of Texarkana, TX.; Sue Morris of Alton, IL.; Tana Carpenter of Denver, CO.; Terrece Vallance of Pocahontas, AR.; Collece Henry of Walnut Ridge, AR.; Elonda Blackwell of Pocahontas, AR and Ambie Lester of Williford, AR.; one sister Glenda Hendon of St. Charles, MO.; forty eight grandchildren, seventy six great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Logan and Ethel Catt; her husband William Carpenter; two sons Donus and Rick Carpenter; two brothers Dale and Glen Catt and one sister Gladys Price.

Pallbearers are grandsons: Vernie, Les, Kelly, Matt, Logan Carpenter and Chad Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Shay Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow the service in Hosea Cemetery in Knobel, AR. Public visitation will be Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 6:00 unto 9:00 PM.
