Lynnette Arnold

Kathleen Lynnette Arnold was born June 24, 1947 and departed this life after a long illness on June 9, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at the age of 71.

She was the first child born to Austin W. and Naomi (Clark) Arnold of Knobel. She was the first grandchild born to Henry E. and Addie W. Arnold, and the first granddaughter born to Ervin J. and Eunice Phillips Clark.

She was fortunate to be born into a large circle of family and extended family friends. This group was more than a clan, it was a wad held together by love and friendship and the ties that bound them so closely together. It was more often easier to just accept someone as kin than to try to trace through the maze of first cousins, second cousins and double cousins. Kin was kin.

She began elementary school in a one room school house, being taught by her Aunt Joy Baker. Later, she graduated from Harrisburg High School and was in the first graduating class of Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould. She was the church secretary for the Corning 4 ^th and Vine Church of Christ for several years before entering the world of banking at the Corning Bank and later, the Corning Savings and Loan. Eventually her love of art called her to finish her Art Education degree and she became an art teacher in Wentzville, Van Buren and Neeleyville, Missouri school districts.

Lynnette loved painting, knitting, quilting, weaving, basket making and all things craft related. Her hands were always busy and her talents were known far and wide. She also loved to travel to such places as Hawaii and Alaska.

She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and spent many years teaching the cradle roll class. She attended church every time the doors were open as long as her health allowed.

She was a true heroine to her brother and sister. At a very young age she kept Dale from drowning by holding him up by his ears until their Dad could reach him and pull him out of swiftly running waters. Many years later she performed a perfect Heimlich maneuver on Anne when she was truly choking to death.

She is survived by her brother Dale Arnold and his wife Patricia of Imboden, sister Anne Arnold Stone and her husband RJ of Jonesboro, nieces and nephews Cara and Troy Cox and children Madison and Jeremy Spears, Whitley Cox and Cameron Cox and great great niece Elliot Spears of Bono, Amy and Dr. Chris Enger of Jonesboro and great nephew John Enger of Jonesboro, Dale Arnold Jr and wife Leah and Mick the Wonder Dog of Imboden, Kathryn and Hunter Jenkins II of Mablevale, Olivia Stone of Mansfield, LA, and Carly Collins of Jonesboro. She also leaves first cousins John and Jean Duff, Jerry and Debbie Spinks, Rod and Dawn Spinks, Mike and Lynne Spinks, Tim and Dottie Jo Spinks, Eddie and Betty Arnold, Rebecca and Floyd Cozart, Ben and Julie Baker and Perry and Lauria Baker.

Throughout her life she was blessed with many dear friends. Among them are Donna Sellers of O'Fallon, MO and Gail Halderman of Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with Kippy Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.

Lynnette's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Danny Grubbs who always went far and above to see she received the best care possible and to the compassionate staff of the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
